About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) for a 13-week contract position in Waimea, Hawaii. The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluations and treatments across inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings, helping patients improve or restore their ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), mobility, strength, range of motion (ROM), and functional activities .
The OT will develop individualized plans of care, provide direct therapeutic interventions, coordinate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, support discharge planning, and maintain accurate clinical documentation. The position requires flexibility to support varied patient-care needs and Saturday coverage.
ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, including assessment of ADLs, range of motion, strength, functional abilities, and patient-specific rehabilitation needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing therapeutic activities, sensory integration, upper-extremity rehabilitation, orthotics, adaptive equipment, and self-care training.
Provide patient and caregiver education regarding therapeutic recommendations, functional activities, safety, pain management, and strategies to improve independence.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate rehabilitation services, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation using Cerner while supporting quality improvement, infection control, staff education, and departmental rehabilitation activities.
Active Hawaii Occupational Therapist (OT) License Required.
Minimum 2 Years of Occupational Therapy Experience Required.
Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.
Experience Providing Occupational Therapy Across Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Settings Required.
Must Be Comfortable With ADL Training, ROM and Strength Assessment, Functional Rehabilitation, Interdisciplinary Care, and Required Saturday/Flexible Scheduling.
